A NEW START

It has been two years since my last post here on COMFORT @ STYLE.  I have still been cooking during the summer months aboard the Schooner Nathaniel Bowditch and as of this post I am finishing up a six and a half month cross country bicycle trip that has taken me from Maine to California and Back.

During that time I have given a great deal of thought about what I would like to do in the future.  Cooking is, and will always be, a big part of my life, but at 52,  I was questioning some career moves that I had,or had not made.  Am I too old for school? What about tuition and loans and debt.  What did I want from school and how else could I reach that Goal.

I Want to plan, cook and prepare food for people in a unique  setting.  I want it to be an experience that they will not soon forget, I want it to be challenging.  I thought of many possibilities and options that I had. and then one evening, while stuck in my tent during a deluge in rural Missouri, doing menu planning for a trip this summer that will feature lobster everyday, I realized that what I was looking for was the job that I already had; that All I needed to do was give it that extra bit of attention and work to make it my dream job, and save 100,000 in the process!

I am still a few thousand miles from home, but once the sailing season starts and I am in full swing, I hope to bring this blog up to speed and keep you all posted about what is new in the Galley of the Bowditch.
